[RESTOCKING] WWII Polish Soldier Minifigure
Preparations for a defensive war with Germany had been on going for several years when the German army invaded on 1 September 1939, but most plans had assumed fighting would not begin before 1942. The Polish army had approximately a million soldiers, but less than half were mobilised by the outbreak of war. Experiences in the Polish-Soviet war of 1919-1921 had shaped Polish army doctrine to that centring around mobility, but they were unable to invest heavily in the latest developments and inventions. Despite being outnumbered and outgunned Polish forces would fight valiantly against the German forces, but with insufficient aid from France and the UK, and the Soviet invasion in the East, a suitable defence was no longer possible to continue.
